Implants
The possibility of replacing a missing tooth without damaging the remaining teeth is certainly the goal we strive for in dentistry today. Implantology is a part of modern clinical dentistry.
Long-term practice has shown that implant placement is a routine procedure that lasts about thirty minutes. It is completely painless and is performed under a local anesthesia. Implants solve the problem of one or more missing teeth, with the implant serving as a carrier for future prosthetic replacement.
It takes almost three months for the bone to grow together with the implant (osseointegration). After that, a crown or a bridge can be placed on the implant – depending on the number of the teeth being worked on.
Single implant
If one tooth is missing implant placement is the best solution because in that case the two adjacent teeth are preserved. These would have to be grounded if a classic bridge was made.
Multi units
if more teeth are missing, implants serve as bridge carriers.
Full mouth or full jaw restoration (All on 4)
A permanent solution is a bridge attached to implants. A minimum of 4-6 implants are installed in one jaw and then a circular bridge is made. In these cases, the “Teeth in a day / Smile in a day” technique is very popular, which is when we install implants during one day and place a temporary bridge. After this, patients leave the office with fixed teeth, making this a very popular procedure. After three months the temporary bridge is replaced by a permanent one.
Lifetime warranty on dental implants
Patients receive a lifetime warranty on implants. They do not pay for any necessary re-installation.
In order for dental implants to last as long as possible, the manufacturers have set conditions for the guarantee that patients and dentists must adhere to. These are:
• three mandatory annual check-ups
• responsible implant maintenance by patients
• patients are reminded of check-ups by the Bloom dental clinic.
Patients who do not reside near our clinic and so are unable to come to our office for regular check-ups, can do the same at a dentist in their place of residence.
